When our Spanish classes started, we had a slow response. We started with only one student the first week, then we jumped to five and by the third week we had 30 students. Needless to say, things got real very quick for one teacher to handle all the students with different levels of Spanish. We put out a call for volunteers and two of the ladies that responded said that they always wanted to do this but lacked experience. They were willing to learn on the job.
The first couple of weeks we kept the group together so that they could get their feet wet so to speak. They started leading small groups to practice the exercises and slowly worked their confidence to spend half of their time with a group of students. They have become great teachers and have covered for me while I attended General Assembly in the U.S. Gloria and Andreina will continue to improve their skills and being a blessing to the students that attend our classes.
