We are grateful for the local leadership of ministry in Barcelona. As we are in the U.S. for a few months to share the mission’s story in CBF churches, ministry continues in Barcelona thanks to wonderful leaders like Elisabet. Elisabet is the director of Mamaventura and she recently sent me an email letting me know that one of the children in the program would soon be celebrating a birthday. Because most of those in the program do not have family nearby and few local connections, we love to throw birthday parties for the children. Elisabet told me she was going to purchase a babydoll as a birthday present.
Soon after the birthday party, Elisabet sent me a picture of the young girl with her baby doll. The birthday girl carried it around with her the entire time, never stopping to put it down. A babydoll is a small thing, but to a young child who otherwise wouldn’t celebrate their birthday and to the mother who sees that you care, it can mean the world.
