I recently partnered with my local organization to host a vibrant and educational health event for the community, and it was a huge success! The event focused on three key areas: healthy eating and nutrition, physical activity and the benefits of movement, and women’s health.

Participants rotated through interactive health booths, where they engaged in hands-on activities that reinforced each topic. From making nutritious smoothies and competing in balance challenges to creating bracelets that represented the menstrual cycle, every booth offered a unique and memorable experience.
As a fun finale, attendees who visited all the booths were invited to choose a white clothing item and tie-dye it—adding a splash of creativity to their health journey! Over 25 community members attended, supported by more than 15 incredible volunteers who helped lead the activities and keep the energy high.
One of the most rewarding parts has been seeing our refugee clients return for their regular appointments proudly wearing their tie-dyed shirts and sharing how much they enjoyed the event.
We’re already looking ahead to hosting events like this quarterly, as a way to continue promoting healthy living and building joyful connections in our community.
