Dawnings begins with a six-session leadership retreat for a church's Leadership Team that is both information and leadership formation. The team then shares what it learns of the Dawnings "approach" with the larger congregation through a series of four Congregational Sessions designed to develop a series of stories that bring focus to individual and congregational calling. Through careful listening and reflection, the Leadership Team recognizes and responds in ways that lead the congregation toward fulfilling its God-given mission. Ever sensitive to a local church's context, the materials are adaptable to congregational setting, situation, and circumstances. Along the way, CBF is available to assist.
Reimagined by a team of practitioners from 2021-2023 and rereleased in June of 2023, Dawnings has catalyzed transformation in congregations for over a decade. CBF offers the Dawnings material to partner congregations at no charge. As a way of understanding the scope of its use, as well as to plan for the improvement of existing resources and the development of related resources, we ask those requesting the material to complete the short form below. Submission initiates a contact from a Dawnings representative who guides access to the material.

For a limited time, CBF is offering the leadership of a Dawnings Guide at no cost to partner churches. Guides are available to facilitate the initial Dawnings Leadership Retreat, as well as to offer a post-retreat evaluation and guidance session with the local pastor or church contact. Guides are former and current local church practitioners who know the material, maintain and develop skills through professional collaboration, and share a love for the local church and an emerging clarity of call.
