By Rev. Laura Ayala, CBF Global Missions Coordinator
We come together in prayer for our brothers and sisters in the Philippines who have been impacted by Typhoon Co-may (known in the Philippines as Emong). This powerful typhoon struck Thursday night in the town of Agno in Pangasinan province, with maximum sustained winds of up to 74 miles per hour and gusts reaching 102 mph. While the storm is weakening, flooding and landslides have blocked roads and affected communication systems.
Our field personnel in the Philippines, Brittany and Casey Ramirez, are safe, but they appreciate our prayers. We ask that you keep them and our partner, the Philippine Baptist Theological Seminary, in your thoughts and prayers. Their strength and resilience are crucial during these challenging times.
Once the event concludes and assessments are made, CBF Disaster Response will share the best ways to offer support. Your generosity can make a significant difference in the lives of those who are suffering. At this time, please pray for the safety and well-being of those affected.
Together, we can be a beacon of hope and support in the aftermath of this storm. Thank you for your compassion and solidarity.
