September 14: The Gift of Friendship in Community

For Jessica Hearne, planting roots in Danville, VA, has meant creating an intentional community. Through Grace and Main, she and her husband, Joshua, have created a Bible study, a ministry addressing housing and food insecurity, and a large community garden to nourish body and soul. Through these ministries, they seek to work alongside people to teach long-term solutions. They work to be sustainable for the Earth and for the people to whom they minister. Thanks to their presence in this community, they are giving people the tools they need to care for themselves and for the environment.
