By Brooke

We have had 17 university students work with us over the 12 years we have been field personnel. These students come in the summer and breathe a little added life into the ministry. These interns have gone on to become artists, lawyers, pastors, moms, teachers, church workers, counselors, renewable energy engineers and a variety of other occupations. But they all left a lasting imprint on the community here.

We still talk about what they each brought to the ministry, from choral expertise to engineering knowledge to love of games and laughter. They have their own stories of friends they have made and lives they have touched. Our prayer is that they take what they’ve learned here,  about living as ethnic and religious minorities, about forming relationships that lead to spiritual discussions and about learning to live out of their comfort zone, and take it back to America as they fulfill their callings in Christ.
