The Cooperative Baptist Fellowship’s Ministerial Transitions team believes that ministers and churches thrive together. As ministers seek vocational calls and churches search for ministers, CBF Ministerial Transitions invites the Fellowship’s network into collaborative work with God’s Spirit guiding these calls. By equipping search teams with resources, leveraging technology, and facilitating conversations across CBF’s state and regional organizations and with partners, CBF Ministerial Transitions supports the transformative work of churches and clergy as they pursue their God-given mission.
Engaging CBF Ministerial Transitions
CBF Ministerial Transitions invites ministers and search teams entering the search and call process to schedule a conversation with Director of Ministerial Transitions Jay Kieve (schedule conversation here). During this chat searchers and ministers may share their hopes for the next ministerial call and will learn in detail how CBF supports ministerial transitions.
Leveraging Technology
CBF Ministerial Transitions invites churches seeking ministers and ministers seeking a place of service to create a search profile with CBF’s LeaderConnect matching system. Based on user submitted profile information, the software suggests which calls may align with enrolled ministers. Far from a “placement service,” LeaderConnect equips ministers and search teams with a head start as they engage their own, and the larger CBF, network.
Equipping Search Teams
CBF Ministerial Transitions equips search teams with resources to help organize and maximize the effectiveness of their work. The simple, short documents below offer suggestions for prayer practices, communication planning, and other search tasks. We invite searchers to access these resources then follow-up with questions, or for context-specific consultation, with Director of Ministerial Transitions Jay Kieve or your state and regional leaders.
