Mission Bite #252

At the beginning of 2021 I partnered with another local NGO to start a community garden in a vulnerable community. We completed the construction and had the grand opening with the British Ambassador on June 15th. The opening was a huge success. The partnership includes two local individuals that we trained to take the everyday operation and distribution of the fruits and vegetables to the families in need. We continue to grow more products for those in need. We also received a small grant from another local NGO. This partnership will help us achieve sustainability over the next few years. We are excited about the future opportunities to impact the community.

A principios del 2021, me asocié con una ONG local para iniciar un jardín comunitario en una comunidad vulnerable. Completamos la construcción y tuvimos la gran inauguración con el embajador británico el 15 de junio. La inauguración fue un gran éxito. La asociación incluye a dos personas de la localidad que capacitamos para llevar la operación diaria y la distribución de frutas y verduras a las familias necesitadas; a la vez seguimos cultivando más productos para quienes los necesitan. También recibimos una pequeña subvención de otra ONG local. Esta asociación nos ayudará a lograr la sostenibilidad en los próximos años. Estamos entusiasmados con las oportunidades futuras de impactar a la comunidad.
