Mission Bite #31: Feeling Fears for Friend and Neighbor

""I was asked to translate for Latino parents when in tears they asked their pastor to consider becoming a temporary foster parent for their children should they be deported.

I cannot imagine facing the possibility of being separated from my children for weeks or months, even knowing they were in good hands while we were apart, or the feeling that I might lose everything I worked for all because I might happen to be confronted by an immigration official who believed I was a security or public safety threat and decide to deport me. Can we feel those fears and say we are afraid as well for our immigrant/refugee/Muslim/all vulnerable friends and neighbors?"
