Amen.
In the eyes of God, people matter more than borders.
One of the ways we know that is so is because the Bible is clear that the ultimate will of God is for the whole human family of every nation, place and language to sit together forever at the table of God, and to sing together forever in the choir of God(Isaiah 25:6 and Revelation 5:13).
Those small glimpses of the ultimate will of God are one of the ways we know, in our spirit, that when migrating persons are treated with cruelty and unkindness, the heart of God is angry and sad; the carefully guarded borders we have painted on our maps, becoming the deeply painful scars we have drawn on God’s heart.
In the eyes of God, how persons are treated is more important than how borders are crossed, because God loves people more than borders.
And so should we. Amen
