Container Garden

Despite living in a farm town and harvesting our crops, many households in Immokalee, Florida are in a food desert where quality, affordable food isn’t readily accessible.  To make nutritious, locally grown produce more available, Cultivate Abundance, a Global Missions engagement partner, enables gardeners to grow and share produce. Container gardens are a viable and productive option for both household and community gardens.  For only $30, three five-gallon buckets – filled with soil mix and planted with appropriate crops such as eggplant, okra and greens – are a significant means of improving farmworker access to nutritious food.
