Come Find Rest and Renewal

Summer Retreats for Pastors and Staff Ministers

As a pastor and minister, the months since March 2020 have been marked by challenges and demands unlike any you’ve seen in your lifetime. You’ve literally remade ministries on several days’ notice, moving from in person congregational life to entirely virtual life. And the coronavirus pandemic coexisted with the bitter and polarizing partisanship of our public life and shone new light on deep seeded racial injustices.

These times have required constant innovation and courageous and faithful agility. Exhaustion and isolation among ministers have set in, meaning an opportunity for rest, renewal and time spent with an authentic community of holy friends could make a real difference.

So, the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship has partnered with CBF state and regional organizations for a series of spiritual retreats from mid-June to early September created especially for ministers that will be held at sites across the Fellowship this summer.

The retreats are designed to offer opportunities for worship, spiritual practices, holy conversation with colleagues and time for quiet and rest. And they will not include intense educational programming or informercials about things happening in CBF life or prognostications about post-pandemic church.

The retreats are $25 to attend and your only other costs will be the cost of travel to get to the retreat center and excursions with colleagues.

Retreat registration in some locations is reserved for senior pastors.
