Scovia is a professional counselor who has worked at Refuge and Hope for at least the past eight years. She has worked with countless refugees and helped them discover hope again in very hopeless situations. She speaks three languages fluently. Scovia has worked for the Ugandan National Counseling Association and has worked with the government, the military, as a university professor and in the NGO sector. She has a passion and heart to serve refugees and the most vulnerable. Her service at Refuge and Hope has been valuable beyond words.

She recently left Refuge and Hope to move to Rwanda to be with family. At her farewell party, the number of people who shared how she has impacted their life was amazing. She will be greatly missed, but her work continues on as she has trained hundreds of others in trauma care and in peer counseling. She leaves behind a legacy and an impact that is immeasurable.
