About Selah Vie:

This event, sponsored by CBF’s Young Baptist Ecosystem, is designed to give space for rest, reflection, and a reset in the midst of the busy lives of undergraduate and graduate students of all ages. A retreat allows us to slow down, to breathe more deeply, to catch up to our bodies – physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually. Selah Vie draws students from all across the country to experience God through worship, small groups, workshops, nature, and fun. We are excited this year to extend a special invitation to seminary students. A track designed for these students will provide an opportunity to meet and network with CBF ministry leaders.

This Year’s Theme: Breaking Boundaries, Making Boundaries

We all navigate boundaries on a daily basis. Some are obvious and others aren’t. Some are set by others,, and some are ones we set, or need to set. We may find ourselves pulled in many directions without a clear sense of who we are, what we stand for, and how to say “no” in order to say “yes” to those things that are important to us. How does our faith strengthen us to make hard decisions? What do healthy boundaries look like? Come explore these questions with us at Selah Vie!

Preacher and Retreat Leader: Andrea Dellinger Jones

Andrea is an experienced pastor, professor, and leadership coach whose calling includes education and advocacy for other ministers. Originally from Rome, GA, Andrea holds degrees from Rhodes College, McAfee School of Theology, and Baptist Theological Seminary at Richmond. She has served churches in Georgia, Virginia, and North Carolina, including a fourteen-year senior pastorate at Millbrook Baptist Church in Raleigh, NC. Andrea teaches courses for divinity students at Duke and Campbell, leads multiple ministry cohorts for pastors, and has supervised over a dozen students and associates on staff. She also gives life and leadership guidance through Here Comes the Sun, a coaching and consulting business she founded partly as an excuse to surprise and encourage clergy with soda and chocolate.

Mark has performed and led worship throughout the US and in 15 different countries around the world.
